Learning Objective: to understand the safety measures that are to be taken at the time of disasters The students of grade 5 state had a field trip to Andhra Pradesh State Disaster Response and Fire Services Department which is located in the rural area of Tuni. Station fire officer Mr. K. Ramudu and fire fighter Mr. Suryanarayana explained how to take the necessary safety measures during natural disasters like floods or man-made disasters like fire accidents. They also explained further about that the major causes of fire accidents are due to electric short circuits, gas leaks, and human negligence. They emphasized the fact that fire accidents cause a great damage to property and to human life. They showed the tools (equipment) which they use while firefighting and during floods. They suggested some safety measures to take care when we face any disaster. They suggested noting down the phone numbers of police station (100) fire station (101), and ambulance (108) to call immediately in case of an emergency.
