Field trips help in experiential learning, reinforcing the learning from the text book for the children . The students of class 9 visited the betel leaf farm of Sri. Vemula Diwanam enroute to Mangavaram on 25.11.2022. They gathered information about the cultivation of betel leaves, their preservation and transportation. Mr. Vemula Diwanam , the farmer , explained the whole process of cultivating the betel crop , the care of the farm , its transportation etc. He also briefed about the medicinal values of betel leaves in Ayurvedic field. Along with this cultivation, to control insects, marigold grove farming is also done. Students could understand they use of flax plants (avisa) in support of betel crop. Students and teachers got equipped with lots of information posing number of questions to the farmer. Finally, the knowledge gained was reflected in the articles that were presented by the students the next day.
